Church History

Rev. Dr. Harry S. Wright, Sr. is a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Born on the “Baptist Hill”, he is a son of the late Rev. Arthur J. Wright, Sr. and Mrs. Maggie B. Wright, (former pastor and first lady of Shiloh Baptist Church). Rev. Harry Wright served as pastor of Shiloh from 1954-1967.  He possesses a wealth of knowledge about Christian endeavors and the Shiloh Baptist Church family.

Luther Grace has very strong ties to Shiloh. As a youngster, he attended church with his parents and developed a deep love for his church. Luther gleaned Shiloh history from his father, Tommie Grace, who served as a trustee and treasurer at Shiloh.

Dr. Gary Bethea was reared in Shiloh and was a very active member of the Youth Ministry. He often speaks of various Shiloh members who were a part of “his village” as he was growing up.

Betty J. Munnerlyn-Gilchrist grew up in Shiloh and has a rich recall of past events and members.  The memories of days gone by are brought to life by Sister Gilchrist's bubbly personality and wonderful story-telling skills.

Lizziephine Moody is a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church.  She has served in many capacities over the years, however, her long-standing commitment to the Pee Dee Baptist Educational Association typifies her strong desire to work for the upbuilding of God's Kingdom.
