Music Ministry 

The Music Ministry of Shiloh Baptist Church is a diverse ministry that enhances and cultivates our worship services that allows our members to edify the body of Christ through with their musical gifts and talents. The ministry presents a variety of music that includes: Hymns, Traditional Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Spirituals, and Praise and Worship.

Mission and Purpose

The Mission and Purpose of the Shiloh Baptist Music Ministry is to be the vehicle to usher in the presence of God. It is to establish and set an atmosphere that is conducive for worship. We are the enable the presence of God to move freely among the congregation and allowing each parishioner to experience God on a personal level. It is our goal to prepare the people for the delivery of the Word of God.

 

Music Ministry Vision

To identify and develop the musical talent of the Church to inspire fellow musicians, fellow worship leaders and the congregation through the use of musical talents to bring together the choir, organists, and praise teams in unified expression to provide a variety of instruments/styles with different teams, in order to allow the congregation to fully express praise to our Lord to emphasize a spirit of worship while maintaining musical excellence to allow for spiritual expression in all of its dimensions: thanks, praise, confession, supplication

 

Scriptural Foundation

It came to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, For He is good; for His mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the House of God (2 Chronicles 5:13-14).

 

The Senior Choir

Is comprised of seasoned singers who have a passion for music and God. The Senior Choir sings a variety of music to include: Hymns, Traditional Gospel, and Spirituals. The Senior choir rehearses the Thursday before the 1st Sunday @ 5:30 p.m.

 

The Male Chorus

Is comprised of male singers who are members of Shiloh Baptist Church. The male chorus sings a variety of music to include: Hymns, Traditional and Contemporary Gospel. The male chorus rehearse Friday Evenings at 6:00pm before the 1st and 2nd Sundays in the Sanctuary. The male chorus is open to all males.

 

The Gospel Choir

Is comprised of singers who are members of Shiloh Baptist Church, that have a passion for music, ministry, and God. The Gospel Choir sings a variety of music to include: Hymns, Traditional and Contemporary Gospel, Spirituals, and praise and worship music. Rehearsals are Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. before the 2nd and 3rd Sundays in the Sanctuary.

 

The Youth Choir

Is comprised of youth ranging from ages 7-17. The Youth Choir sings a variety of music to include: Hymns, Contemporary and Praise and Worship Music. The Youth Choir rehearse on Wednesdays before the 3rd and 4th Sundays at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Activity House located behind the church.

 

The Musicians Corner

Is comprised of skillful and anointed instrumentalists, who have a passion for music and God. The Musicians Corner accompanies all the choirs of the church.

 

The Combined Choir

is comprised of young and older members from all of other choirs.  This choir shares a variety of songs from hymns, gospels, and contemporary gospel music.

 

Youth Dance Ministry

Is comprised of young people who have a passion for liturgical dance. This group is open to all members of Shiloh Baptist Church ranging from ages 7-17. This group ministers once a month during Morning Worship. Rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Activity House located behind the church.

 

The Youth Stick Ministry

Is comprised of young men who are members of Shiloh Baptist Church ranging from ages 7-17. This group ministers once a month during Morning Worship. Rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the A.J. Wright Building.
